Ford 1.5L Dragon GTDI Engine YJZA
This project focuses on the development of a high-performance basemap for a Ford engine, calibrated on a dynamometer with a lightweight flywheel and RON 98 fuel. The setup includes custom hardware modifications such as a FoMoCo turbocharger and an optimized exhaust system, along with an ECU-based control system using the EMU PRO and Ecumaster GDI Driver. The map manages key components like GDI injectors, high-pressure fuel pumps, and variable valve timing, ensuring precise engine performance tuning.
Hardware modifications:
Turbocharger replaced with FoMoCo CJ5E-6K682-CH (53039700507).
Exhaust system modified downstream of the turbocharger, fitted with a Bosch LSU4.9 sensor, with no catalytic converter or GPF filter.
Setup Details:
ECU: EMU PRO + Ecumaster GDI Driver
The attached map controls the following:
– GDI injectors
– GDI high-pressure fuel pump
– Electronic throttle with SENT protocol position sensor
– Pneumatic boost valve
– Variable valve timing
Non-mapped or unsupported features:
– No control for port injectors
– No control of the piston cooling oil jet valve (default: always on)
– No control of the oil pressure regulation valve (default: high pressure)
– No control of the cylinder deactivation valve (default: all cylinders active)
– No control of the air conditioning compressor

These baseline maps provide a starting point for tuning and are designed for specific engines. They are not guaranteed to work correctly out of the box and may require adjustments to fit your particular setup. Always treat these maps as a foundation to build upon and make further refinements as needed.
It is critical to verify all assigned outputs and ensure they match your wiring. In the software, go to “Tools / Assigned outputs” and “Tools / Assigned inputs”. If the assignments do not match, do not load the map to your ECU. Adjust the outputs as necessary before proceeding.
